Mark launched his cartooning career back in the eighties, with Monsta
Mail Marketing, selling thousands of Monsta Tshirts through the mail. A
couple of years drawing Monstas live on childrens TV, and a daily
Monsta strip in the Auckland Star lead to Monsta's appointment as
official mascot of the 93/94 Whitbread Round the Word Yacht Race, then
of the yacht Swedish Match in the last (97/98) Whitbread. After racing
around the world a few times, Mark and the Monstas came home and
covered the 2000 and 2003 America's Cups in Auckand.
As well as sailing cartoons, Mark does a wide range of freelance
work, from caricatures, character creation and political cartoons, to
murals, live cartooning, and illustration. |
